I first worked with Richard back in the 1980s when we were both pups. Even though that was 30 years ago, I still remember this young chap who had a burning desire to excel bounding about O&M Direct.

Fast forward to 2013, SapientNitro Singapore. I got reacquainted with Richard all over again. Although we hadn’t seen each other for 3 decades, we hit it off straight away. He hadn’t changed a bit except for the grey hair. But appearances can be deceiving. He had in fact changed a lot. Transformed, perhaps. Over the years, he’d developed a whole spectrum of superpowers.

I soon discovered he had a deep knowledge of the digital world: platforms, tech, and digital production. He understood that a new economy business needed a new creative process to match. In the first 6 months we worked together, we created a seamless process for a big, complex, and fast-evolving agency. From strategy and ideation to prototyping and implementation.

But some things about Richard hadn’t changed. I was inspired by his focus on the craft. He has a passion for delivering world-class work, whether that be moving images, print, typography, or that crossroads where creativity and technology meet.
